Community Involvement

Over many years, Lakes Oil has enjoyed a far reaching and considerable close association with the communities and associated organizations domiciled throughout the Gippsland Region.

Such organizations include educational, both primary and secondary, sporting clubs, non profit community clubs, with a particular emphasis towards youth development, eg. supporting the Indigenous youth cricket program promoted by the Lucknow Cricket Club and the cycling Tour of Gippsland. This annual Tour encompasses the five Shires throughout Gippsland and provides the opportunity for 150/160 young aspiring Tour De France participants to annually improve their cycling status and their personal development.

In addition Lakes Oil has continued to support the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation through the fund raising efforts involved in its marketing program.

These activities facilitate the operational performance by Lakes Oil particularly within the Gippsland Region. It is an important component of the Company’s strategy to support the progress in the development of the oil and gas resources in the Region, which, will not only benefit the local communities but ultimately benefit the State of Victoria.
